Eric and Bethany Godsman have lived in Leadville, Colorado since the winter of 2006/07. Their children are Tristan, Tinley, and Mariah.
Eric was a PE teacher for Lake County Intermediate School from 2007-2011, and at West Park Elementary from 2011-2012. He came to Leadville to be able to teach PE, but the biggest draw was the fact that the Intermediate school has the highest swimming pool ever built in America. Eric taught swimming as a part of his swimming curriculum and also taught swim lessons to kids after school.
Eric was able to swim at the University of Wisconsin-Madison from 1996-2000 and held the 200 yard freestyle record from 1998-2004. After graduating from Wisconsin, Eric coached several USA Swimming teams in Colorado and was able to help coach a team in Aurora, Colorado that Missy Franklin (2012 and 2016 Olympic Gold Medallist) was a part of.
Bethany came to Leadville to work with her aunt at Morning Star Child Care. She was a lead teacher and CDL certified bus driver for the school from 2006-2012. Bethany has water safety instructor experience from when she was in high school. She is excited to be a part of getting swimming back in Leadville, and Lake County.
